Introducing Our Winter 24-25 Modern Explorer |
When Aaron Mulkey moved to Cody, Wyoming in the 1990s, he was able to take his love for ice climbing to even greater heights, all while holding down a successful (and relatively normal) career. It’s this impressive balance that makes Aaron a true Modern Explorer.
He didn’t squander his love for adventure because of work, and he didn’t sacrifice his career for the sake of adventure. Aaron displays how we can all explore—whether it’s a fifty-foot icefall or simply an unfamiliar trail right in your own backyard.

A look into what makes a successful Familiarization Tour. |
The Wyoming Office of Tourism along with our partners are well known for our FAMtastic FAM trips for both domestic and international trade. Courier, the official magazine of NTA (National Tour Association) talked with DMO’s and Tour operators recently about “How to make a Fam tour … famtastic” and the article turned out very insightful. It not only shares what the tour operators are looking for, but also how a DMO sets them up and measures success. WOT’s own Amy Larsen is included in the article and will also be on a panel at NTA Travel Exchange next month in Huntsville, AL on the same topic.
